What's up?

What are we up to these days? Surely not turning 7 months old in a matter of hours... ugh. (For the record, I'm pretty sure I'm going to wake up any day now to find that my baby is still only a few weeks old and this was all a dream. A blissful dream, but a dream nonetheless. Surely time cannot have passed so quickly!)

Well, for one thing, we're gnawing on everything. Not that this is necessarily a new phenomenon, but mouthing and gumming everything within reach of those pudgy little paws probably constitutes 70% of a typical day.

We're also rockin' faux-hawks in the tub :-) Tubby time is definitely a favorite, and when Daddy does the honors it's always extra-fun! The hair, while very fine and fuzzy these days, appears to be coming in very light. I'm anxious to see what color he'll settle into!

Also hardly a new development, we're all smiles (most of the time)! He really is a very happy baby, and quite the little charmer in the public sphere. One must build extra time into the errand-running schedule for all the oooing an aahhhing of random passersby! I can hardly blame them, though ;-)

We've been trying lots of new foods and building quite a varied repertoire. He has really enjoyed peas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, apples, pears and bananas. Avocados didn't go over so well... we'll try again in a few weeks!

We're definitely diggin' the super-cool, electric-blue aviators. For whatever reason, the evening that this photo was taken he was squawking and making a big fuss over eating his dinner... until Aunt Tiff put his shades on him. From that point on, he sat quietly and took down his entire meal. Ha!

We're also starting to explore some big-kid activities (it helps Mommy to focus on the positives of all this growing-up business), like playing at the park and riding in the jogging stroller! He's tough to impress, however. 

Of course, adding Daddy to any activity makes it smile-worthy!

I can't say that the slide was his favorite... I couldn't tell whether he was a little nervous or just indifferent. Lord knows that'll change!

Most importantly we're loving the warm weather! Along with fun-in-the-sun comes a great excuse to wear our super-cool aviators and that stinkin' adorable hat with the flap on the back. It says "tons of fun"... truer words were never spoken!
