As promised...
Finally... some photos of our progress. We had a LOOOOOONG weekend, but a very productive one. We spent our first night(s) there, finally, which was kinda cool although we were both FAR too pooped to really acknowledge it or get excited about it. Friday evening we tackled the dresser, which went well and only took us about 3 hours. No arguing, no missing parts, no giant "oops" moments... well, til the end when I put two drawers together backwards and we couldn't disassemble them so we had to drill our own holes to finish them... but that's neither here nor there ;) Anyway, moving on, we got up at about 9:30 on Saturday (*GASP* for those of you who know Ben) and went to Home Depot to decide on and purchase paint. This was (hopefully) our final paint purchase - HOORAY! We decided on a medium olive green for the kitchen, and the dark purpley-red for the living room, as previously discussed (we just had to find a Ralph Lauren color that matched the original Behr color we had picked out). We also decided to take the leap and carry the dark red from the living room across the entire back wall into the dining room. When we got back, we started the first coat of green in the kitchen. Ben's mom came to help out later in the afternoon, and we ended up going out to a late lunch with her and then finishing up the kitchen that evening. We also touched up the bathroom paint, and hung floating shelves and a towel ring in there too. It's beauteous ;) It might be my favorite so far! We tried to watch a movie on Saturday night when we got into bed (the air matress, that is), but we both passed out quickly and slept like rocks til the morning. On Sunday we got up and made quick work of the kitchen - unfortunately a second coat was necessary - touched that up, hung a curtain rod in the bedroom, hit Qdoba for lunch (a very fortunate discovery - Qdoba is definitely an acceptable substitute for Chipotle!), and then got started priming in the living room and dining room. So enough chatter, on to the photos...

My green kitchen :) I like the contrast of the walls/cabinets/trim and doors. It's not my favorite room though, I have to say. The edges look pretty shoddy, in my humble opinion. Damn contractors and their messy caulking.
TaDa! Our lovely, serene bathroom :) I DO love this room! I love the way the colors turned out, and the shelving will be very handy for adding some decorative touches and making it even cuter! If you could see it in person, you'd be even more impressed. For example, you can't see the pattern on the shower curtain at all, but the stitching catches the light so beautifully... lol :)
This is me, in the midst of the dresser pieces on the floor of our bedroom. Scroll down for more of the bedroom...
