My iPod's Got the Holy Spirit!

Five minutes after finishing that last "poor pitiful me" post, I hopped in the shower after setting my iPod to shuffle a random mix of Christian music. This is what I got.

Song #1: Let The Waters Rise by Mikeschair

Don't know where to begin
Its like my world's caving in
And I try but I can't control my fear
Where do I go from here?

Sometimes its so hard to pray
When You feel so far away
But I am willing to go
Where you want me to
God, I trust You

[Chorus]
There's a raging sea
Right in front of me
Wants to pull me in
Bring me to my knees
So let the waters rise
If You want them to
I will follow You

I will follow You

I will swim in the deep
'Cuz You'll be next to me
You're in the eye of the storm
And the calm of the sea
You're never out of reach

God, You know where I've been
You were there with me then
You were faithful before
You'll be faithful again
I'm holding Your hand

[Chorus]

God Your love is enough
You will pull me through
I'm holding onto You
God Your love is enough
I will follow You
I will follow You

[Chorus]

Song #2: You Never Let Go by Matt Redman

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

[Chorus]
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

[Chorus]

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

[Chorus]

It was a quick shower (time is exam points, people!). But the point is, God is faithful even in the smallest ways... encouraging me with some lyrics that I REALLY needed to hear in these particular moments. He is always faithful, always near, always guiding, always listening, always casting out fear, always holding tight to His children.

So "Let The Waters Rise", Neuroscience. BRING IT. "If our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what could stand against?" (Yeah. That song just came on. Thanks, Chris Tomlin.)

And now, I will join Philips, Craig and Dean in a chorus of "Revelation Song" ...because God knew I'd be ready to belt out some serious praise right about now ;]
